Kathleen Bourne is a Senior Talent Director with Robert Half’s Management Resources group. She specialized in recruiting and placing senior level accounting and finance professionals on a contract and contract to perm basis. Kathleen has been with Robert Half for 15 years, and has overseen large teams, partnering with hundreds of candidates and clients.

In today’s fast-moving, tech-influenced labor market, traditional hiring practices are being tested by longer time-to-hire, and AI-enhanced applications and more. This presentation takes a back-to-basics approach to modern hiring, highlighting proven strategies that help organizations identify real capabilities, avoid costly missteps and make better hiring decisions. Attendees will explore how to spot resume red flags, validate candidates’ technical and soft skills, align compensation with the current market, and streamline hiring and onboarding processes. These practical insights help leaders hire more confidently; reduce risk; and build stronger, more resilient teams.

Robyn Large is a Child Support Program Specialist with the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and serves as the federal lead for the Employer Services Team. In this role, she works closely with employers and child support agencies to provide education and training on the child support program. Robyn has more than 30 years of experience in child support enforcement.
